Personal Statement
Playing golf in college has been a goal of mine since day one of high school. Placing and playing well in tournaments comes with a feeling that is unlike any other for me. When high school started, I got a job at Santiam Golf Club in Stayton, Oregon and that's where I spend almost every day. Being able to play golf right after work and spend time behind the counter is one of the things I'm most grateful for because for me, its like living the dream.
I am extremely devoted to developing my golf skills. In high school, I have individually won 24 tournaments, although its still not unusual to find me at the golf course practicing until I have accomplished what I set out to do that day. Playing golf means everything to me and if you put me on your team, I will do everything in my power to contribute as much as I can to the program. I personally believe that you wont find anyone more devoted as I am when it comes to improving their game and putting in the effort.
To better prepare myself for the future, I am currently getting lessons from Howard Robertson of Willow Lake Golf Center in Keizer, Oregon about once a week to get my game as fine-tuned as I can. I am a great listener and also a great learner which makes learning new things semi-easy. Golf is my passion, and to me, keeping good mental composure and a well balanced academic life is the key to low golf scores and high test scores. Hopefully in the future I can show you this first-hand.
Thanks!
