Events

  • Camp/Event
  • PIAA State Championship
  • 10/16/23 to 10/17/23
  • Shot 66 and 71 to tie for first but unfortunately lost in a playoff to finish as runner up. I set my personal best low tournament round (-6) and overall tournament score (-7) but unfortunately did not win and will be thinking about this for a long time. My rounds included 12 birdies and 1 eagle and all aspects of my game were clicking in round 1. Round 2 was a little tougher as I started to think about winning when I reached -9 through hole 6. I lipped out 2 consecutive 5 foot putts on holes 16 and 17 and could not believe one of those putts did not drop. I was able to collect myself and birdie the 18th hole to force a 3 way playoff but was not able to win this time. I will be thinking about this loss for a long time and will work even harder this offseason to play great next summer and during my senior season. Although I am very upset that I did not win, the hard work is paying off.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Team Semi Finals
  • 10/10/23 to 10/10/23
  • Shot 73 in very cold and windy conditions to be 3rd lowest score on the day. Round included 4 birdies and was my first with the new driver. I left a few shots on the course but felt much more confident off the tee which boosted my overall confidece.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Round 2
  • 10/02/23 to 10/02/23
  • Shot 79 with 4 birdies to finish in 14th overall with a broken driver and an unfortunate 2 stroke penalty on hole 9. It was a very tough penalty to recover from because I was moving up the leaderboard inside the top 10. I learned a valuable lesson and was able to regroup from this penalty and a terrible bounce off a cart path on hole 17 that ran parallel to fairway. I tied for 14th and played in a 3 way playoff for the final qualifying spot in the state championship. I birdied the first playoff hole to win by hitting driving iron off the tee and sticking a sand wedge to 5 feet. I found out shortly after this tournament that my driver was broken.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Round 1
  • 9/25/23 to 9/25/23
  • Round 1 of WPIAL championship shot 80 which was 14th place. My driver was broke but I did not know and I hit several tee shots that put me in trouble. I was leading at -1 through 5 and then my score got away from me when I started hitting driver. My swing felt great which is why I kept going back to the driver. Rebounded on back 9 after a tough stretch in the middle of my round.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Sectional Tournament
  • 9/18/23 to 9/18/23
  • Shot 75 to win section championship by 1. Did not play my best but rebounded on the back 9 to shoot 35. I was unaware at the time, but found out that I played this tournament with a broken driver.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek Junior Tour
  • 8/12/23 to 8/13/23
  • I shot 76-71 to tie for 6th. The course was challenging and requires accuracy off the tee and on approach shots. The greens were aerated which cost me several mid length putts but I hit the ball very well. I really focused on having a plan for every shot this tournament. I hit a few tee balls too far into the fescue rough on day 1 and chipped really well this tournament. I was -3 through 7 holes in the second round and then I just could not hit greens. The pin locations were challenging and I took a few aggressive approach shots because my confidence was very high. I was proud of my round. I believe I am very close to finally making a leap forward with my game.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Amateur Qualifier
  • 7/24/23 to 7/24/23
  • Shot 79-70 to finish tied for 30th. This was my first experience competing against college golfers and elite local amateurs. The course played very difficult and the greens were rolling at 14. I could not settle down in the first round but was able to regroup and put together a very solid second round. My 70 was tied for the 4th lowest round and I made 5 birdies in 2 rounds. I am pleased at my ability to battle back but I need to learn to control my emotions and focus when I start.
  • Camp/Event
  • CR Miller Match Play Invitational
  • 7/17/23 to 7/18/23
  • Finished third in an invitational match play event for the top highschool golfers in western PA. I am finally converting birdie opportunities at a satisfying rate. I made 9 birdies in my first two rounds (34 holes) including a stretch of 4 birdies in 6 holes to close out my second match. This was after an hour and a half rain delay which usually hurts my game. I battled back in my first match from being three down and birdied holes 17 and 18 to win 1 up. I am still starting my rounds off slow before playing good on the back 9. I lost my semi-final match on day 2 and just couldn't get anything going. I only made 2 birdies but my opponent was hot and made 5 birdies.
  • Camp/Event
  • TriState PGA Junior Championship
  • 7/10/23 to 7/10/23
  • Finished tied for 3rd with rounds of 71 and 75. I am really happy with the results from the hard work over the last two weeks. I lead the event with 7 birdies. The course played difficult with a 73.6 course rating and slope of 140. Playing the second round in hot and humid weather was really a challenge. I am converting more birdies but also had several other good looks that will drop in the future. I had 2 unfortunate double bogeys in my second round due to terrible breaks. I was in the lead on the last tee and my ball took a bad kick into the lip of a fairway bunker. It was a heart breaking that I did not return to the Junior PGA Championship. I am really happy that I battled back but still need to eliminate a few mistakes.
  • Camp/Event
  • Pennsylvania Junior Amateur Championship
  • 6/26/23 to 6/27/23
  • Shot 73-78-75 to finish tied for 36th out of 152. I had a very up and down tournament with stretches of playing great golf and stretches of not playing well at all. I played really well on the back nine on day 1 by shooting 1 under par and had momentum going into day 2. I lost my confidence in the second round but wanted to finish strong on my last 18 holes. I was playing well and was 1 under through 7 holes when we had a 2 hour rain delay. I could not recover after the weather delay. I gave myself several good looks at birdie that I need to start converting.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPGA Junior Championship
  • 6/12/23 to 6/12/23
  • Shot 78 and 74 to tie for 14th place. I did not play my best again today even though I am working hard every day. The weather was rainy and windy with a delay to start the day and a late finish. I grinded the best that I could and battled back to finish my last 9 holes at 1 under. A few bad breaks cost me strokes and I gave myself a lot of good looks at birdie but did not convert.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Junior Amateur Qualifier
  • 6/05/23 to 6/05/23
  • Shot a 76 and tied for 6th place. The course played very fast and difficult with pin placements located on several tiers and slopes. My swing just wasn't there today and I played defensive golf. No scores recorded under par due to difficult conditions.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golfweek Junior Tour - Avalon Lakes Country Club
  • 5/13/23 to 5/14/23
  • Course played 6,745 yards with tournament pin locations both days. Shot a first round 73 followed by a second round 71 to finish in 3rd place. I struck the ball very well and executed my plan but was burning the edge on my putts and could not get the line and speed combination down. I could have easily finished 3 shots better both rounds, but I am very pleased with my finish in my first tournament this year.
  • Camp/Event
  • PIAA (PA) State Championship
  • 10/17/22 to 10/18/22
  • Shot +5 to tie for 10th place out of 72. First round 74 followed by a second round 75 in windy and very cold conditions. I am very close to putting it all together. A few bad decisions and aggressive play cost me a top 3 finish. Played a better back nine both days with round 2 highlighted by an eagle and birdie on the back nine par 5s because of my ability to reach the greens in two. Moved up from 18th to 10th place on day 2.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Section Team Championship
  • 10/11/22 to 10/13/22
  • Shot a round 1 69 and team placed 2nd to move on to WPIAL finals. Was second low score to Rocco Salvitti (top 50 on JGS). Shot a round 2 77 in extreme wind and rain. Not my best effort and team finished in 5th place. Tied for fourth lowest score on the day.
  • Camp/Event
  • WPIAL Section 7 Individual Championship
  • 9/27/22 to 10/06/22
  • Shot 75 in round 1 during rainy, frigid and windy conditions and followed up with a round 2 74 to finish in 5th place out of the 38 top golfers in Western PA. Finished strong by playing the back nine in round 2 at 1 under par.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2022 Junior PGA Championship
  • 8/02/22 to 8/05/22
  • First experience traveling and playing in a national golf tournament against the best junior golfers. Shot a first round 81 and followed up with a second round 77. Dubsdread golf course played 7,142 yards and the Ravines played 6,857 yards. I did not play my best golf but the experience was amazing, humbling and eye opening to improve practice and preparation habits.
