Personal Statement
I have been golfing since I was six years old. Since hitting the golf ball for the first time, I fell in love with this game. Growing up playing this sport and being successful in it, my dream is to become a professional golfer playing on the PGA Tour.
Turning this dream into my goal for collegiate golf, I left Germany, my home country, where I belong to the German National Team (GVBB Youth Squad Player) since 2015. I ranked 10th in the German National Ranking in Division 14 and Under in 2016 and placed second in the Boys and Girls Championships 2016. As a talented young golfer I joined IJGA (International Junior Golf Academy) and Heritage Academy (High School) in South Carolina in January 2017 (leaving my family behind in Germany). I was 14 years old then.
I am very disciplined and focused in my golfing, performance training and mental strengthening. I am very coachable and probably one of the hardest working golfers and recruits you’ll find. I am always doing extra work to reach my goals. I am a Captain and therefore role model for my Golf Academy fellows, taking over responsibility and developing leadership skills.
In class I also study hard, taking AP and Honors classes to maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer every year at the RBC Heritage PGA Tour and I continue to support the charity projects in Cambodia - education projects I started supporting with my school in Germany already. I will be in Cambodia on those projects in January 2020.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in class and on the golf course. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible heading towards my goal of becoming a professional golfer.
