Daniel Nunez '15 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for your interest in learning more about me. I will graduate from Cypress Ranch High School, in Cypress, Texas, in 2015 where I am an honor student.  My goal during high school is to develop both my academic and golf skills to enable me to continue playing on a team at the college level.  I am determined to do my best, achieve personal success, and contribute everything I have to a team.  My long term aspiration is to play on the PGA Tour.

I have been playing golf competitively for 3 years now and have accomplished a scoring average of 75.  In that time I have achieved five 1st place awards, thirteen 2nd or 3rd place awards and many additional top ten finishes.  I typically compete in 40 tournaments a year.  As a teammate on the Cy-Ranch Golf Team I have been privileged to play on the Varsity Team since entering as a freshman.  I had a great experience contributing to our 3rd place trophy in districts in 2013!  My current handicap index is 2.0.  I practice, on average, 40 hours per week.  Currently, I take regular lessons from Matt Swanson, a golf pro.  Before golfing I played baseball at a very competitive level and was part of a travel team.  I realized that my enthusiasm was in the game of golf and the unique challenges it presents.   Golf is truly my passion and I enjoy every second on every course.

I would like to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom as well as on the course. When I am not on the golf course I enjoy hunting, fishing and helping out in my community. It would be an honor to speak with you about your school’s academic excellence and the opportunities to contribute to your golf program!
