Personal Statement
In 2022, I will be competing in many golf tournaments to improve my skills and to gain experience. During this year, I will play in tournaments with my high school golf team (I will be a Sophomore at Midway High School in Waco, Texas, during the 2021-2022 school year) and in tournaments with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), the North Texas Junior PGA (All American Tour), the Legends Junior Golf Tour (through the Texas Golf Association), and the Texas Junior Golf Tour (TJGT).
I have competed in golf tournaments since I was 8 years old and look forward to playing at the next level. What I like most about playing golf is the satisfaction of playing a good golf round, hitting that amazing shot in the moment, and the hard work and grind that lead up to the moment.
I am looking forward to playing for a coach who not only cares about my golf game, but who also cares about me as a person on and off the golf course. I am also looking for a university where I can further my education and become a more educated human being.
My faith plays a huge part in my life. A verse that always speaks to me and stays with me is Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” This verse helps me realize that God will stick with me no matter what happens, no matter if I shot 59 or 100, he will be right by my side.
I will continue to work hard for the next three years to prepare myself to compete at the Division I level.
