Troy Novak '13 Recruiting Profile

"Troy is one of the bright spots on our team. He has a passion for the game of golf. I wish I had 10 others like him" - Coach Schow, JDCHS Varsity Golf Coach I have enjoyed golfing since I was 4 years old. My goal is to compete at the college level with a quality team, and continue to advance my skills, and knowledge of the game, to win at the Pro level after graduation. I am a 2nd year Varsity Letterman in both golf and tennis. However, golf has always been my priority. I thrive in athletic competition and have taken my school to State Championship Tournaments in both tennis, and golf, in each of the last 2 years. I play tournament golf every chance I get and have learned to balance schoolwork with a demanding golf season to further my education. I have attended 4 seasons of BYU (Elite) Golf Camp with Head Coach Brockbank and shot (-2) to win their final tournament championship match this summer. I have also worked very hard with Utah's top PGA instructor Cory Badger at Golflab to improve my game from tee to green. In my senior year I have recommitted to raising my GPA and ACT score. I am also proud of my contribution in bringing our school back to the Utah State 3A H.S. Golf Championship for the 2nd year in a row. I shot the low score for our team in the final tournament round.
