Golf has been a part of my life since I was born. I've been a multi sport athlete my whole life, in the 9th grade I made the Varsity Golf team and that is when I started taking my golf game to the next level. My Sophomore year is when my drive to become my best self in Golf really kicked in. At our State 2A Golf Championship, I missed placing in the top 10 by 1 stroke. That very day I vowed to work harder and set a goal to place in the top 5 at the next State Championship. Immediately my coaches and I began working diligently and for the next year I developed my mental toughness and honed the skills I had, and began shaping into the golfer I would need to be to reach that goal.
When the State Championship came around my Junior year, I had never felt so ready. I had worked so hard and was very focused with a clear mental toughness I could feel for the full 2 days. I placed 2nd in the 2A Championship and exceeded the goal I had set for myself. I feel my work ethic and being coachable is what got me to that goal. When I work with a Coach, I am able to listen, apply and work hard for the results we set. I do not have an ego that gets in the way of my development.
I am eager to work in a team setting and contribute to a positive, successful season. College Golf has been a goal of mine that I continue to work hard towards each and every day.
