Ian Gatzke '18 Recruiting Profile

    Golf is a game that I intend on playing the rest of my life. Since I could walk, I have been active either in the pool or running around tossing a ball around with my dad. My parents have been vigilant in getting me involved and active my entire youth. My mother was a collegiate level swimmer while my father passed up a college offer at ripon college to work in a factory to help support his family after his father died when he was young. Knowing how much more difficult my parents lives were compared to mine pushes me to make them proud. 

    Competing at the club and high school level for golf and swimming along with playing football has taken a major chunk out of my life. I never have really focused on one sport for very long, but golf has always stuck out to because I am always having fun on the course. I enjoy practicing and making my game better and I enjoy golf because it is an easy sport to watch and see the hard work pay off in your match scores. 

    Throughout my life, I have enjoyed finding myself in the leadership role. I am the quarterback in football, and a captain for my swim and golf teams. I am proud to know I have an outgoing personality and I enjoy meeting new people. 

    I am excited to pursue a golfing career at the collegiate level and in addition gain a quality education.
