Hardy’s Personal Statement
My name is Hardy Johnson, I am a 6’1” inch incoming junior from Hot Springs County High School in Thermopolis, WY. I will graduate with the class of 2022. I’m an athlete that is passionate about the game of golf. I am dedicated to the sport of golf; I am the first one on the course to practice and the last to leave.
I have been on the varsity golf team since my freshman year and have won the State 2A Golf Tournament my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. During the 2019 fall season I averaged a 71.3 which placed me 2nd in the State out of all schools in Wyoming 2A-4A. I have played the Optimist Junior Golf Championships in Florida on two different occasions and have also been a member of the Wyoming team for the Junior America’s Cup.
When it comes to choosing a school that I would like to go to, it would be ideal to find a place that I can play golf on a year-round basis. I am open minded about all college golf opportunities and would like to find the college that fits me the best. It truly doesn’t matter about the size of the college, I just want to play college golf and compete! My top two choices for a major are Architecture and Business, however, that may change over the rest of my high school and college career.
My future athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at a competitive level. I would also like to make a positive impact on a team and to be an example to younger golfers in my sport. I strive every day to be a better student athlete and would love to have the ability to take my golf career to a higher level in the college golf arena.
