Hello, my name is Sam Houston. My goal is to play college hockey while also working for my bachelors degree. An alumni to my high school wrote a letter of recommendation for me and he said the one word that describes me is GRIT. I like to think so too. My whole young life has been about working harder then anyone else to achieve my goals. Working longer, working tougher, and working smarter means I know that there is no short cut to success. I know that I am the key to my success. Every hockey coach I have had will confirm my strong work ethic. It is my driving force in life. On the ice I will be the one grinding in the corners to get the puck, winning battles and back checking hard. My other greatest skill I have is my speed. Im always the fastest player on the ice and won't let anyone else beat me. I use my speed to get around defenders, forecheck hard, and back check even harder. Not only am I a hard worker in hockey, but I'm also a hard worker in school. I am a straight "A" student who's a leader and a role model in class. In me, you will have someone who is dependable with high integrity, high academic performance and high devotion to athletics and academics. I hope my life is spent in the service of others and our world. I want to be that player you put out on the ice trusting I'll get that gwg. I want to be that student who the school trusts and refers others to. Thank you.
