Dear Coaches,
My love and passion for hockey began when I started playing with the Colorado Rampage as an 8 year old Mite. My hockey journey has been one of patience , hard work, and leadership. I cant imagine where I would be without the lessons hockey has taught me. I have become more confident as a person, and a stronger leader on and off the ice. I feel very strongly about taking my hockey journey as far as it leads. Playing college hockey has become a dream of mine since I became a AAA player in 2017. It was then that I realized how far my hockey journey could take me, and playing college hockey would be an incredible honor.
I feel that playing AAA TIER 1 has prepared me to balance the workload of academics with practice, games, and travel. I have maintained a 3.7-4.0 GPA throughout high school . I am a Senior at Pine Creek High School where I plan to continue my academic focus with honors classes. It is because of my schedule that I have excellent time management and organizational skills. My work ethic, mannerisms, and leadership skills are characteristics my teachers, coaches, and teammates have often commented on.
My drive to improve myself and those around me is something I believe sets me a part from others. I want everyone to be their best on the ice, and I strive to encourage, lead, and mentor every time I step on the ice. I strongly believe in creating a positive atmosphere in the locker room, off-ice workouts, and on the ice during practice and games. I try to lead by example, asking myself if I've given my best and left everything on the ice. Respect and positivity are two important things you should always give your coaches, along with your trust and willingness to do what is needed for the team.
I have been fortunate to be a part of the 12U AAA Tier 1 team that have won the Bauer Music Tournament in 2017-2018 in Nashville, Tennessee. I attended the Colorado Combine where I was 1 of 16 forwards to advance to the Western Regional Camp in June of 2019 at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In May of 2021 I attended the Rocky Mountain District Camp for USA Hockey Development in Dallas Texas. I found it to be an enlightening experience where I enjoyed playing hockey with like minded athletes.
As I continue to pursue my academic and athletic goals I am committed to being a strong contributor and leader to my team and to my coaches. I hope to continue to grow as a person and leave whatever college I attend as an alumni my teachers and coaches are proud of, taking my work ethic and leadership skills on and off the ice to my future career and beyond.
Sincerely,
Max T. Wright
