Competing at nationals in 2018 in Wayne, NJ was an amazing experience. Especially because we where the first team from our association to ever make it to nationals and that it’s self was quite an accomplishment. The two years I spent with that coach helped my growth as a player skyrocket tremendously. Ever since then my growth hasn’t stopped climbing. Then before that I always struggled to get the playing time I though I deserved, so it made my drive and will to get better that much greater than everyone else’s.
After that season I took a big leap and left my home in Washington to move to Colorado and play on a more more skilled and competitive team. This was not easy to do especially with having to leave all my friends and family behind, but looking at it now I would do it over again in a heart beat. Then as a player I was always switched between offense and defense for as long as I can remember. This has benefited me by allowing the coach’s to have trust in me no matter what position I’m in on the ice, and it has helped give me a a better perspective and understanding of the game.
