Personal Statement
To whom this may concern,
Firstly what will set me apart from most players whom are trying to be recruited is my " Character"! My dad lost both his parents back to back to cancer and my grandmother died while he was doing CPR and I was there. I was raised by a single parent and had to grow up fast and learn to be a good person well before being a good athlete. I was raised with Christian values and also was encouraged to volunteer and help others. My father was a professional hockey player and from day one his goal for me was to make sure my grades came first and sport second. I understand how to be coachable and also a leader and a great teammate. I would like to use hockey as a resource to support my academic aspirations and get a degree in Education. My goal is to get a degree first and as it will set me up for the rest of my life in the workplace and my future as a man. Hockey I am blessed with a lot of skill and also compete in my game, I understand what it takes to play and the sacrifices required in order to make the next step in my development. I set goals in the classroom and also on the ice. My daily goal is to work hard and always be positive and a learn and grow as a person. People laugh and call me the " Sponge" , my father has given up so much to help me chase my dream. A slogan we have in our home is the following " SUCCESS JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN, SUCCESS IS LEARNED , SUCCESS IS PRACTICED AND SUCCESS IS SHARED BY ALL WHOM COMMITT TO IT". My goal upon recruitment to a school would be to combine education and hockey to reach my dream and always have options. While at school I would like to be part of the program in all levels and make my four years at school positive and full of memories. Be the best person I can to all those who are part of my life while at school and be remembered for being a leader and positive man. I am driven and ready to work in the classroom and for the coaches whom choose me as part of the program. In closing what sets me apart is my character along with all the intangibles I have as a person and my faith in god.
Thank you ,
Nik Fomradas
