Personal Statement

My name is Scott Kennedy,

I am a 2002 goaltender from Parker, Colorado. My dream is to one day play college hockey, I have made big steps towards eventually reaching this goal. I started playing ice hockey much later than most, I started playing when I was 12 years old and am currently in my sixth year of ice hockey. I have made many improvements since I started. One of my proudest accomplishments is my ability to overcome hardship and adversity. I have always seen myself as a leader both on and off the ice,  every practice I try to not only outwork the other goalies, but outwork myself. I put in a lot of work into hockey, and accomplishing my dream. In my free time I like to read about, learn about, and work on cars. I also do goalie coaching with 10U teams, I always try to give back to hockey, and the community because of lessons I learned when I was very young. I know that I can make a difference.

  • Team finished the seeding round 3 and 1. I played the first and fourth game, won both games. We won our first round playoff game and lost to a strong team from Cheektowaga, NY 5-0. I was in net for the first playoff game and the first half of the game against Cheektowaga before I was pulled with the score 3-0. For a team that was just formed, and only had 4 practices before the tournament, I think the team did great. Save percentage for the tournament was .916
