In my education and hockey I take great pride in my work ethic and in accomplishing my goals. I always keep in mind that another student or a player is working harder than me. This philosophy does not prevent me, but rather drives me to succeed.
Although education is a priority, I have learned to balance my school and athletics. Yearly, I am recognized for Academic Excellence awards within the hockey league. Being self motivated, I have partaken in many honors classes and a few AP classes throughout my high school experience. Currently, I hold a 3.86 GPA and carry a class load with Pre-calculus honors, World History Honors, and multiple College Prep classes. Throughout my high school experience, I have maintained high honor roll for three years straight.
What I enjoy most about hockey is the comradery and using my skills and knowledge to help my teammates be better players. Hockey never ends, when the season is over, it is my time to focus on my mobility, strength training, skating , Cross fit and private lessons. During the summer, I am invited to multiple summer showcases and. development camps to showcases my skills and hopefully make it to the next level.
What makes me a strong candidate is my character on and off the ice. My coaches have complimented my work ethic, passion and maturity. Coaches notice my speed, strength, skills and hockey IQ. They appreciate my ability to accept feedback and make quick adjustments on the ice. During crucial moments in the game, I am the player that my coach relies on to score, or kill off a penalty. My style of play is not only centered on the scoring, but creating opportunities, penalty kill, and back checking.
During 2022-2023, I was recruited and committed to the American Hockey Academy (AAA) in Massachusetts. I am attending Cambridge Arts , Technology and Science Academy . For the 2023-2024 season I committed and returned to AHA. My AHA coaches stated " Andrew, is one of the most dynamic forwards with the ability to create offense in tight spaces and blow by other teams' defense."
