Personal Statement
Without my family I would not be the person and athlete I am today. I am very grateful that they have given me the opportunity to play the game that I love. Hockey has helped turn me into a hard-working, dedicated and focused person in all areas of my life.
At age 4, after trying out various sports, my parents decided to take me to a “Give Hockey a Try” class at the local rink. I was instantly hooked. Since then, my goal has always been to play at the collegiate level. I have played hockey from house league through Central States and I have appreciated every single level. My first year of travel hockey, I played defense for the first time in my hockey career. This took me by total surprise. Now, having a great experience as a forward and defender, I know that playing D is the position for me and I have loved every minute of it. Being a leader on my team is a high priority for me as well whether I have a C on my jersey or not. I feel I am a positive influence on my teammates on and off the ice. I truly care about my team.
I hope that I will find the right fit in a program in a school that is right for me.
