Before I made the jump to Junior hockey, I was a Division III high school varsity player. After my Junior year, I realized that if I stayed on the path I was following, I would never play hockey after school. Instead of submitting to a life I didn't want to live, I began to look for a new path. I didn't have any interest from any teams at the time, so I brought it upon myself to email teams and get myself recruited, instead of waiting for someone to come to me. I ended up playing on a team that already had two outstanding goalies on the team, but the experience I gained from watching and learning from the two older goalies, helped me get to a point that I didn't even think I could reach. This year, I expect myself to be a key contributor to my team, and hopefully grow as a goalie and a person. I do not know how far my natural ability would have taken me if I solely relied on that, but with my work and dedication to the game, I am doing things I only ever wished would happen, and now they are my reality. I don't get too many chances to prove myself, so when I do, I can promise that my work ethic and dedication will show you that I belong on your team.
