Personal Statement
I started playing hockey at nine years old following in my bother's footsteps. I instantly fell in love with the sport and dreamed of playing in college. This lead me to aspire to be a college goalie because I see myself playing at a higher level and further my skills as a hockey player.
I am a team leader on and off the ice. I give my time and encouragement to all of my teammates, which directly relates to my strong belief that anything said or done to someone, will change or alter the path of their life. This leads me to always be positive towards others and push aside accusing, blaming, and complaining. Certain characteristics that I believe are most important for any athlete are accountability and ownership.
In the classroom I match my investment with my aspirations by sacrificing my lesser desires for deeper ones. I also surround myself with other bright students that will push me to succeed in school.
I want to attend college to get a college education and prepare myself to be successful in life. To be a successful student and athlete in college, I truly believe that it requires repeating the "little things" every single day.
