Personal Statement
My goal is to further my hockey career by playing at the highest level I can in the future. I've always been an extremely competitive player who loves the game, making me the player I am today. My coaches and teachers have pointed out my tenacity, hard work, and my willingness to keep grinding even in difficult situations. I was proud of myself when I made the varsity team my freshman year and it was there I had the opportunity to get a sense of team leaders who lift up players around him versus others who were less committed to the team and more about their points on the score sheet. I was more proud when I became a leader with a team-first attitude--encouraging my teammates when they were struggling themselves--and I see collegiate hockey as a great opportunity to continue my own growth, not just as a leader, but as a person. I think the struggle and focus necessary to succeed in hockey instills the same skills to be successful in life. This is what drives my commitment to the game.
