Personal Statement

My goal is to attend an academically rich university that will then enable me to learn and grow as a person as well as a hockey player. I envision my years at university to be not only for academic and personal growth, but also for continuing to develop my skills as a hockey player. On the ice, I plan to continue to positively influence my team through hard work and leading by example. Hard work and good “hockey IQ” have helped me positively impact my team, A strong academic program accompanied by a strong Hockey tradition is something that continues to be important to me in selecting a university.

I’m currently a senior at the Governor's Academy in Byefield MA. Prior to attending Governor's I was a student at the German School of Washington DC. I am bilingual in German. Because of my bilingual background and international schooling, I would ideally like to attend a university with strong academic programs in Languages, International Business or International Relations as a prelude to attending law school. While hockey is my current passion, I know that there must be a focus on life after hockey.

Salt City Prospects Showcase

At Salt City Prospects, we are committed to developing young athletes and educating them about the various options to play hockey beyond high school and juniors. Our athletes participate in a three day showcase camp where junior and college hockey coaches are able to evaluate athletes for their programs. The athletes and their parents have the opportunity to learn more about the various options to play hockey beyond high school, including programs at the Junior, ACHA, and NCAA levels. The camp provides athletes and parents an in-depth presentation about these programs, how athletes can showcase their talent, and to continue playing hockey at a competitive level.

The College Hockey Showcase at Brown University

The College Hockey Showcase at Brown University - The goal of this showcase is to expose players to many of the top collegiate hockey programs and coaches in the United States, to educate players on the college evaluation and recruiting process, and enhance a player's knowledge of collegiate hockey. Players will participate in practices run by current college coaches, compete daily in showcase games that will be coached and evaluated by current college coaches

Academic Hockey Showcase

The Academic Hockey Showcase gives players exposure to many of the top College Hockey Coaches and Programs in the Country. The games and practices allow coaches an opportunity to instruct and evaluate players. The Recruiting Seminars give players and parents information that will help them navigate through the recruiting process. The Academic Hockey Showcase has been sold out every year since 2008. We will continue to limit the number of players to give coaches an opportunity to evaluate each player.

South Eastern District - National Team Player Development Tryouts

USA Hockey provides National Camp opportunities for U.S. citizens that are the best of the best. To participate in these camps, the player identification process starts at the local Affiliate level. Players participate in their Affiliate evaluation process and if selected move on to the district tryouts. Those players who are selected at the district level then have the privilege of attending one of the USA Hockey summer development camps. National Camps are available for 15-17 year old players.

US NTDP - South Eastern District Select 14 Camp (2014)

The Southeastern District holds a camp for the top 14 year old (first year Bantam) players in the District as an introduction to the USA Hockey development program. Each Affiliate in the Southeastern District sends 20 players (12 forwards, 6 defense, 2 goaltenders) to this week long summer camp. Alexander attended representing the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association (PVAHA) affiliate. The PVAHA affiliate encompasses Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.
