Personal Statement
Playing hockey and baseball have been a big part of my life. I have worked very hard both on and off the ice (and field) developing my skills. Equally as important to me is academic success. I have maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout my freshman year while in several Honors classes. My goal is to have both academic and athletic success at a college that is the right fit for me.
With respect to my hockey game, I would describe myself as an offensive minded defenseman. My strengths are my skating, passing and decision making. I’ve always played with older kids. For my fall team, I was selected for a U-16 Elite National Bound Midget team even though I was only 14 years old. Additionally, I was fortunate enough to make the Varsity team at Boston College High School as a Freshman. BC High has an incredible hockey tradition and is on the brink of another Massachusetts “Super 8” State Championship.
Finally, leadership is probably my best intangible. I have had the honor of being selected captain of my BC High middle school teams in both 7th and 8th grade as well as many other travel teams growing up. I’ve always tried to lead through example to my teammates by having the strongest work ethic, good personal discipline and habits and by treating everyone I know with respect.
