I learned a valuable lesson about motivation and hard work several years ago. I made my first elite travel team as a pee wee but was cut the next season. It was a huge disappointment. But my coach told me I had two choices. I could be angry, or I could turn my disappointment into motivation. It took me two seasons to win back my spot back on the top team, and I have held my spot and improved my game every season since. I learned the value of always working hard in practice and the off-season to give my team the best chance at winning in every game. I’ve made being prepared for each game a habit and remaining calm no matter what the score or situation is. In 50 starts over the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons my record was 32-12-6. I thrived in pressure situations with a record in tournament and playoff games of 17-8-2, including six wins and just one loss in elimination games. And I was in goal winning the 14U National Championship game in 2017 and the semi-final game of the EJEPL 15U league championships in 2018. This past season 2018-19, in 23 starts my record was 17-3-3 with a .928 sv% and 1.72 GAA.
I love being part of a team dynamic. I am very outgoing, I like to meet new people, make friends, and interacting in any social environment. I always try to be a good classmate and teammate who encourages others and interacts positively with my coaches and teachers. I recognize the responsibility of representing my team, my school, my family and myself professionally and respectfully. I'm competitive about my grades and my sport and I know achieving my goals relies on my continued academic success and continually improving my game. I’m motivated by these challenges and confident in my work-ethic and abilities to compete at higher levels both on and off the ice.
