Personal Statement
My name is Kevin Duarte. I was born and raised in a family based around strong morals and values. My goal is to play college hockey at a competitive level. I have played varsity high school hockey for five years and am the current senior captain of the Falmouth High School team. I also play for the highly competitive Cape Cod Lightning in the NEPHL. I have been a goaltender all my life, and been dedicated the position and getting better. I am athletic, also playing football, soccer, and baseball at the varsity level. My speed and reaction time sets me apart from many goaltenders at this level. I have the grit to win every game I play in and the will to play at my peak performance every time I step on the ice.
Different, but not separated, from my athletics is my strong character. I have received recognition of my good character from various outlets. One example is the global wide Rotary Club. I personally don't like to boast about having a good and strong character because I believe everyone should have one, but it is important for you to know that by looking into me, you can only expect great things.
I am currently the Vice President of the Falmouth High School Class of 2019. I try to challenge myself in the classroom and I focus on my academics. By taking Honors and Advanced Placement classes, I'm able to prove my capability to excel in college level courses and my overall commitment as a scholar athlete.
It is with this information and the abundance more available on my profile that I ask you to take a closer look at me, and consider me to help bring an extra edge to your team.
