Personal Statement
My goal is to find a college that will allow me to grow as a person and earn a degree that will allow me to contribute in a meaningful to future employers. During the course of high school I have learned to manage my time effectively between my studies, practices and games. I have played for the Islanders U16 and U18 programs during the fall season while competing for the St. Bernards Varsity Football team from my freshman year thru my Junior year of high school and will continue to play my Senior year as well. In addition to playing for the Islanders I have played at St. Bernards for my Freshman and Sophmore years. For my Junior season, due to low numbers on the STB Hockey team we merged our program with St. Peter Marian in Worcester, MA which plays a MIAA Division 1 Independent Schedule. Playing at the Division 1 Level against teams such as Archbishop Williams, St. Johns Shrewsbury and Arlington Catholic has provided excellent competition for me as a goalie.
What makes me a good fit for a team as a goalie is that as long as I have played goalie I have also had the ability to still skate out as a player given me the view point of a shooter and understanding the role each skater has when they are cycling the puck. Having this ability or view point allows me as a goalie to be in a better position to make the save. I am also loyal to my team almost to fault. People ask why haven't you left to play junior hockey, simply stated if I did this I would be quitting on my teammates who depend on me to be there. I believe in finishing what I have started at the high school level in hockey. I have been blessed to be part of a football that won a MIAA SuperBowl in 2018 and wanto achieve the same success with my team on the ice.
