After I graduate High School, I want to play at the highest level possible, as I cannot imagine my goalie career ending when my high school season is over. Whether it's D1, D3, Club, or Juniors, I am itching to play at the next level.
One trait I am fortunate to possess is my athleticism. Whether it be in the net, on a court, or on a field, I tend to excel in all sports. Although I have focused mainly on hockey over the years because of the uniqueness and competitive nature of the goalie position, I am a respected athlete amongst my peers, and my coaches for all the sports I have played over the years (lacrosse, basketball, soccer, baseball, football) have always noted my natural athletic abilities and how quickly I am able to learn and develop skills.
In addition, I'm a very pleasant, coachable player with a positive outlook and even- keeled disposition. I am motivating and inspirational to my teammates on and off the ice, which makes me a valuable addition to any hockey team. Also, I have developed a strong mental game over the years. I am able to stay calm and focused no matter what, and I don't get rattled easily.
Another quality I possess which makes me a good candidate to be a hockey goaltender in college is my size. Over the years I have noticed that many goalies I have competed with and against are smaller in stature, thus I believe that my height and weight give me an automatic advantage over many other recruits..
In the classroom, I am always an active participant in discussions and whole and small group collaboration. Although my grades may not indicate my full potential, I can assure you that I am an intelligent person. My work ethic and habits have steadily grown and improved over the years, and I am committed to continuing to make growth in this area.
Hockey has been a huge part of my life for the last nine years. I have played at a competitive level from the beginning and would love nothing more than the opportunity to continue to play the game that has made me who I am now, and will certainly help to shape the man I aspire to be.
