As a young player, I don't feel like I was the most talented player on my team, yet I always loved playing and kept working hard. I learned a lot of valuable life lessons through seasons of not winning too many games. When I entered high school as a freshman I was a 4th liner on Junior Varsity. The coach didn't know me at all. I wasn't sure if I would be able to reach varsity. As the year progressed, I started to see myself growing and beginning to surpass other skaters and players I grew up around. Through my hard work, I was able to become a key member of my Varsity team and a 1st/2nd line player for my sophomore year. I continued to grow and improve for my Junior and Senior seasons which has allowed me to play Junior hockey.
I have also worked hard to keep my grades up. When I started high school, I was put into regular college-level courses, I finished my senior year, taking mostly honors and Ap classes.
I look forward to the challenges and opportunities college will present to me and I truly hope hockey can be a part of that next chapter.
