Personal Statement
Hockey is my passion. I have been able to skate since I could walk. Hockey is like a second nature to me. I aspire to compete at the highest level possible, no matter the difficulties. I have captained my high school varsity hockey and soccer teams since my junior year and have learned many valuable leadership shills. I know how to lead a team and how to improve not only my hockey game, but improve the game of those around me as well. Through the years of playing hockey, I have picked up many attributes but none are more important then my "no quit" philosophy. This passion has helped me to lead my high school varsity team in points since freshman year and capture both Division 2 and Division 1 New Hampshire state titles when I played at Pro Ambitions Hockey. I transfer this same passion into my academic work as well, having made Honor Roll every semester in high school and being accepted into the National Honors Society my junior year. I have been able to maintain a GPA of 95% despite only taking AP classes my senior year. I always enjoy a challenge whether it is on or off the ice. I have had to wake up at 4 am for practice too often, drive three hours for a game in a different state too many times, to give up playing hockey after high school. I will never stop playing hockey, even in my later years, but I want to be able to say that I played at the highest possible level I could have, and I know I haven't reached that point yet. That is what separates me from the rest of the recruits.
