Austin Schultz '13 Recruiting Profile

I'm Austin Schultz, I am 17 years old and currently play ice hockey for my high school, Allen Park High School. I am very dedicated to hockey and want to take my hockey career to the next level and play for your college team. I'm 5'8", 144 lbs, and am very quick on the ice. One accomplishment I am most proud of was making it all the way to Nationals in Wayne, New Jersey with my travel hockey team. We placed third, although we were projected to go 0-4 in the playoffs however, we went 4-0. Although I am not a team captain, I am always the first one out of the locker room and one of the last to go back in.Also through this 2011-12 Hockey season during my Junior year we won the Regional Championship. Although I am not sure of my major, I would like to attend a school that offers kinesiology, which is the study of human movement and sports therapy. I am also looking into education because I am also thinking about becoming a math or physical education teacher. I am looking for any size school with a division higher than D3 or D2 would be ideal. I would also be requiring financial aid, unless I am offered a full-ride scholarship. Another hockey goal is to come on as a freshman on the second or third line, or start and be a great assest on a club team. Finally, I think I would be a great asset to your team because I am a hard worker and I never give up. I play until the last buzzer sounds. Also, I am aggressive but not to the point where I am getting a lot of obtuse penalties.
