Playing hockey past high school has always been a dream of mine. The younger me had visions of being drafted to the NHL right out of high school, but that was before my eyes were opened to the vast and very impressive network of collegiate hockey. Ever since then I have worked my tail off to get to where I am today. Not only in the weight room and on the rink, but also in the classroom. I am very proud to hold a 3.53 grade point average and an SAT score of 1220. My interests in terms of academics include either business or mechanical engineering.
Not only does a player need to be a skilled athlete, but also a leader. I am currently in my high schools Buccaneer Athletic Leadership Council. I have been to the Michigan ice hockey state final tournament three times and have been a part of the leadership group two of those times. In my first year of Varsity hockey in my sophomore season, I recorded one goal and six assists which lead to an honorable mention for the all-conference award. Being so close to the actual award I worked hard over the off season and the next year I recorded fourteen assists and was named first team all-conference.
I love hockey and it is by far my main passion, but when I'm not on the ice I take part in camping, biking, and ice fishing. A challenge always excites me and I will jump at any opportunity to test myself. In the summer I work with my father in building pools and doing concrete which not only strengthens me physically, but also my work ethic.
I can promise that I will bring my 100% effort to every practice, game, and class that you may offer me. My ability to see the ice and my work ethic separates me from the rest. My defensive positioning and awareness hopefully makes me a favorable candidate to your school.
Thank you for your consideration! - Bradley Robertson
