Personal Statement
As a second year varsity hockey player, the highlight of my career after two seasons was my overall development as a player and being a team leader. Unfortunately, my sophomore season was cut short due to a season ending injury. All I could think about was getting back on the ice. Through the injury I realized that when the game was taken away from me, I would do anything to get back out there. This made me work even harder on and off the ice during my junior season. I developed a rigorous work ethic. I led my teammates by example, both in practice and in games. My energetic and aggressive play fired up my teammates, as I allowed my play to do the talking. It was contagious, and my teammates fed of my high intensity on the ice.
I’m appreciative of the opportunity to play for such a traditional hockey program, as I head into my senior year of high school. I look to be a leader on and off the ice, and to continually develop myself as a hockey player to prepare for the collegiate level of hockey. I want to attend a college that will be a good fit for me both athletically and academically. I believe I have the ability to play at a higher level and feel confident that my solid leadership, tenacious work ethic and high intensity will contribute to your hockey program.
