Personal Statement

Some of my goals would be to play in the NHL, have a hole in one in golf and develop a cell phone battery that would stay charged for at least three months.

  • ActivitiesI would like the opportunity to play hockey in college as well as getting an education. I am interested in going into Health Science or Business. Some of the extra curriculum activities I have passion for are fishing, golfing and lacrosse. I have a lot to offer when it comes to hockey and attending college; a couple of my strengths include dedication and hard work. All of my youth I proved this by playing travel hockey for 10 year’s, travel hockey is very time consuming and team orientated. Hockey was two to three times per week with a possible away tournament of four to five games on the weekend. For example, some days included school all day, one hour of dry land beginning at six o’clock, then one and half - hour’s of ice training. This has been my life and has taken up much of my time and has taught me how to balance my time between hockey and my studies. I enjoyed the interview I had with my recruiter, he informed of so many opportunities within NSCA’s network, I hope to find a college that possibly has an abroad program. I find this to beneficial since we housed a foreign exchange student (Miguel) through the summer from Spain for three weeks in my sophomore year. This was a huge cultural experience for my family and I to live with someone from another country. I learned a lot of Spanish and about Spain’s culture in that duration from Miguel. He was like a brother I never had and this was very rewarding. Something that I never knew about there country is that they have Siesta, which everyone in their family comes home for lunch for two hours from school or work each day to spend time with their family. Miguel and I still keep in contact through Facebook. It was such a great time that I will never forget. I would like to visit Spain and meet up with Miguel, possibly through the abroad program.
