2023 Highlights #2 Personal Statement
I am very passionate about hockey. Since I was four years old and watched the Winter Olympics, I have wanted to play for Team USA. When I'm not on the ice, I am training--speed, agility, and strength. I do not just want to be a great goalie, I want to be the best that has ever played.
I constantly challenge and set very high goals for myself, and I work hard to obtain every goal I have set. For instance: playing U16 hockey as a 12 year old, being invited to play Junior A Hockey at 14, and playing in my first Junior A game at 16, I have achieved them all. I will make a Tier II Junior team before the 2025 - 20256 season and be a consistent and integral part of the team. This is my next goal to achieve, and I have several other goals set for myself. I hope you are a coach looking for an athlete who pushes through any challenges, giving 110% every day, no matter what, and no matter what challenges he faces.
I have a great deal of passion for the sport of ice hockey, I will be playing NCAA D1. I want a coach that will challenge and push me, always tell me the truth, and wants me to grow as a player and achieve the goals I have set for myself. I would love to play for a team where each player is as passionate and driven as I am. I am looking for a NCAA D1 school.

- There were about 10 teams there each of them with 2 goaltenders, except for my team, which just had me. It was a huge challenge to play 5 full games straight in 3 days but I still had a great time and even helped my team win our final game against a team with a better record on the last day.

- I was unable to make the Main Tryouts for the Midwest Blackbirds so I was invited out for a skate. On Monday after my Saturday skate Coach Philbin invited me to play for him and the USPHL Midwest Blackbirds.

- I was 1 of 24 goalies there, we were divided into 4 teams, 6 goalies per team. Each goalie played 10 minutes per game and we had 3 games. I had a total of 28 shots in the three games and I gave up 2 goals. One goal was a penalty shot and the other was during regular game play. I was 15 years old playing with 95% 18 and 19 year old's. - 1 of 6 goalies invited to Main Camp, of the 6 goalies invited, 3 were chosen for the upcoming 2020 - 2021 season. 15 years old competing against 18 - 20 year olds. In the 3 games we had during camp I was scored on 4 times total. One of the games was a very faced paced 4 on 4 full ice scrimmage, I played a full 20 min period and they only got 1 past me.

Leo is a hard working kid who is serious about becoming a great hockey goalie. I have known and worked with Leo for the past three years, he is very coachable, and has a very good attitude. Leo is the kind of individual who will go the extra mile. He is also polite and respectful, never goofing off during a training session and always makes it a point to thank me after a training.
