My greatest accomplishment as a hockey player came my sophomore year of High School. I had finally made the Varsity Hockey team. More importantly for me it was a wake up call. I soon realized my old style of play would not work at this higher level of play. My sophomore year was a year full of learning. I also learned that my endurance would need to be much stronger if I wanted to get more playing time. We were kicked out first round of playoffs, and although it was a devastating event to experience, it was more of what I had learned throughout the whole season. Hard work, dedication, work ethic, and leadership are among the few things I learned through the leadership and drive of the upperclassmen.
The most important aspect for me when picking a college is academics. Academics are an important part of my high school life as a student-athlete, and I look to take this part of me to college. I also want a team that has a bond and trust with one another as I believe this is an important part of developing and becoming a good team. Being a hard worker, and a strong individual for the team to look to in times of hardship is something I believe, I can bring to the collegiate level of play.
