Personal Statement
I am a 6’0”, 180lb. Senior defenseman from South Lyon, MI. Currently I play for the Wausau Cyclones in the NA3HL. I started skating at the age of 3 and have been playing hockey since age 6. While playing hockey year around, I also managed to play both club and travel lacrosse for 4 years and High School lacrosse for one. One of the players I look up to is Connor McDavid. I have watched training videos of him that I have learned from and really admire him for his work ethic and his leadership.
While playing over the years, I have been told by my coaches that some of my best attributes are that I am a great leader and teammate, very coachable, my high hockey IQ and my work ethic. I learned the benefits of hard work from both my parents and Grandparents. Even today, my Grandparents, who are 81& 80, still run a grocery store in Northern Michigan that they have owned for over 50 years.
When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, my options are open. Currently I am looking at schools in the Midwest, however I am open to going anywhere to a school of any size. My choices for a major are Sports Management, Sports Communication and Business / Marketing. My athletic goals are to finish my 2nd year of Juniors strong, then play at college and make an immediate impact to help the team succeed. Once I am out of college, my goal is to land a position with a professional hockey team and use what I have learned to make both my employer and myself successful.
