I started playing goalie when I was only a mite. It grabbed my attention because it was different from all of the other players. Ever since then, that is the position I have been playing (11 years). For about my first three years of playing goalie, I was self-taught. Then, I decided to try out for travel teams because I wanted to get better. Each year, I tried to step up to the next level or get onto a better team and each year so far, I have done that. This past year, I wanted to get the experience of high school hockey and playing with my classmates. I enjoyed it, but again, like before, I desire to get to the next level.
To try to achieve my goal of getting to the next level, I am working with a sports trainer this summer to improve my speed and agility. Academically, my goal for my junior and senior year is to increase my GPA to 3.25. Over these next two years, I am also taking electives that will help me decide for sure what I am going to study in college. Currently, I am thinking about taking a business/marketing path, but that could change in the future.
When I'm not at school or playing hockey, I enjoy spending as much time with my family and friends as possible. Being around these important people in my life has pushed me to be the best I can be, from my friends' competitiveness, to my family's support.
