Thank you for reviewing my profile. My name is John Wendland. I go by "Jack." I live in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
I have had the good fortune of playing hockey all of my life. My mom played Division 1 hockey at Harvard, and won a national championship her senior year. My mom and dad were defensive partners on their first date, and played in a men's league together before I was born. My parents gave me and my siblings opportunities with a backyard rink and youth hockey, and, independently, I found my love for the game. I finished my first year of bantams on our top team. I currently train with an great group of instructors at the FHIT North Campus.
As an incoming freshman, my short-term goal is to get stronger, bigger, and faster in the off-season. I also love the physical play of club lacrosse in the summer. I believe each sport makes me a better, more well-rounded athlete. I hope this fall to a leader on my bantam team as one of only two returning players.
Someday, my goal is to play junior level hockey and compete with the best players from around the world and earn a collegiate roster spot to continue both my education and play the game I love. Academics is very important to me, and I look forward to taking the next steps athletically and academically.
