Personal Statement

Hello NCSA coaches,

My name is Nicholas Haust. I was born in Alabama, raised in Minnesota, and am willing to go anywhere to pursue my dreams. I enjoy lake living, family time, and, of course, being on the ice with the team.

As fun as the rink is, I do enjoy other things as well. Outside of hockey, I enjoy writing and would like to pursue it further in college. I love fishing the many lakes of Minnesota and have an impressive 6.82 pound personal best bass record. I also play soccer at a high level which helps a lot with my conditioning for hockey. Family is always a number one priority as well. My family is great and we love doing things together.

Over the years, I have had a lot of success on various teams. My first time winning a championship game was back in Squirt hockey when we won the District title. I also led the league in goals and assists. I was selected to be in the Minnesota Super Series that year as well. After all that, I have been on many teams that have won several tournament championships. I tried out for an elite hockey program called “The Choice Super League” and made the highest level team as a 7th grader. My coach has asked me to take on the captain’s role this year. Overall, I think my individual and team play has improved tremendously over the years.

My number one goal as a hockey player is to play at the highest level possible. I used to think playing at a high level would be easy and thought it would "just happen", but I know it will take serious heart and grit to remain at the highest levels.

Thank you for viewing my profile. I am only 15 years old and have much to learn, but I have the determination to do what I have to do in order to make my dreams a reality.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
