I started to play hockey at 5 years old. I went to a couple of Minnesota Gopher and Wild games, and that's when I discovered a passion that I wanted to play at a top competitive level. The game of hockey taught me perseverance and leadership, through hard work and determination. I am able to navigate through tough obstacles with a positive mindset. Also, I'm flexible in using different solutions to overcome the challenges. It is very important to work hard and improve on what the coaches are telling me.
As defenseman, I have the ability to have a greater impact on the game play. I'm able to win key battles throughout the game with physical play and defensive positioning. I can see the play develop and make an accurate passes to my teammate's stick. On the power play, I am able to shoot a low accurate shot to the net, to produce a rebound and a goal. I have the ability to break up crucial plays of the opposition in the penalty kill.
I want to continue to pursue my opportunities of hockey and a higher level education. It is important for me to have an outstanding academic future, so I can have a successful career. I am a committed student and athlete.
