Personal Statement
Thank you for stopping to learn more about me. My name is Jacob Scherf. I am currently 17 years old and a senior at the Faribault High School. My passion is hockey. I am a 6’2” - 190 lb. goaltender that takes his job on the ice seriously.
I have been playing hockey since I was five years old and enjoyed it immediately; however, when I became a fulltime goalie is when I realized how much I loved the game.
In addition to regular season, I have also played on the following AAA Teams: 89ers, Grizzlies, Fighting Loons and Magicians. In addition, in 2020 I played for the Lakers, which was a CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Tier I Team.
I think it is important to point out that I am aware that being a goalie can be a very stressful position to play and that over the years, I have learned how to handle that stress very well. Hockey is a team sport; therefore, it is important to be a team player and be there for one another. I also feel that it is important to be a leader, be able to accept feedback and be coachable, all of which I believe are qualities that I have.
Playing college hockey has always been a dream of mine; therefore, I am willing to commit to any college that puts faith in me and prove to them that I would be an asset to their team.
