Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Carter Flor. I am a senior at Princeton (MN) High School (PHS). I've been playing hockey since I was 4 year old. I have played my entire hockey career in Princeton, MN. My primary position is left wing, and my secondary position is center. In my last five seasons I have played 3 years of Bantam A's, and 2 years of MSHSL Varsity Hockey.
I currently have a weight GPA of 3.85. I am dedicated to working hard to achieve good grades in school. I have received Principal's List awards for my academics, and have never missed the A Honor roll. I excel in mathematics and science classes. My collegiate goals are to play Division 1 hockey and earn my degree in Aviation, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
Hockey is by far the most rewarding and life teaching sport out there, which is why I love hockey so much. Some things that make me a good candidate for a team is: my speed, size, shooting ability, stickhandling, and puck protection ability. Things that make me different from other recruits is: I am a positive person on and off the ice, I work very hard, and I like to hear feedback from the coaches on what I am doing well and where I need to improve. For the 2018-2019 season I received a "Mississippi 8 Conference Honorable Mention" award along with our team's own "Unsung Hero" award, which is rewarded to the player who had a big impact but not enough recognition from people outside of the team.
I live in Zimmerman, it is about 7-8 miles from Princeton where I go to school and play hockey. My dad's name is Chris and my mom's name is Kari. I have one brother, Kyle, who is 19 and lives in Roseau, MN. Outside of hockey, I really love bass fishing, running, working out, and bowling. I also love to hangout with my friends and really enjoy going to the movies.
My future goals are to play in the NAHL or USHL, my top choice colleges are: Ohio State, University of North Dakota, University of Minnesota, and UMASS Amherst. After college I would love to further my hockey career, become an airline pilot, or become an engineer.
