Personal Statement
I have been playing hockey since I was three years old and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. I became interested in hockey when I was very young when my neighbors introduced it to me, ever since then I been in love with it. From playing hockey I have learned that I am extremely competitive but also I don’t get angry when I lose, I use it as motivation. I think about what I could have done better and work on it.
I am currently a junior in high school and it is my desire to play college hockey. I have been playing at the AAA level since Peewee Minor. As a goalie, I love to be challenged and learn new things. I have received on ice goalie training from Bruce Racine since Peewee Minor. Some other things you may want to know about me as a goalie: My play style is not flashy. My mental game is strong. My performance is consistent and sound. All while realizing that I am a constant work in progress.
My high school academic goal is to get finish my junior year with a cumulative GPA greater than 3.0 and get an ACT score greater than 25. I also enjoy many other sports including basketball, dodgeball, soccer, and baseball. Some influences in my life have been my parents, Bruce Racine, and Jeff LoVecchio. An example of obstacle I’ve had to overcome to get where I’m at right now would be that coming into this season I was seen by the coaches and the players as a backup. Instead of taking the starting position on a different team, I chose to stay and work to earn that starter position. Because of my decision, my work ethic improved in practice and I have worked my way into a starter position. The team trusts me to not only make saves but step out and play the puck when necessary. I would love an opportunity to show you who I am, what I can do, and what I can provide to a team.
