Personal Statement
As a player, I love to move my feet. I enjoy putting pressure on opposing players when I’m with or without the puck. I have a proven capability to be disruptive on the forecheck and when I gain possession of the puck, I have good hands and am hard to separate from it.
I pride myself on my abilities both offensively and defensively and love that opposing players have told me I’m hard to play against. I'm assigned to and execute well on both the penalty kill and the power play.
I work on my game relentlessly and spend a lot of time in the gym and with the weights to get stronger. Despite having both a High School and AAA practice and game schedule I have access to ice after school and still practice my individual skills at least 5 hours a week outside of scheduled team activities. I work on my speed, quickness, hands and shooting nearly every day.
Academically, I am a strong student who excels in Math and Science. In college I plan to major in Science or Engineering.
I like fishing and playing baseball as a second sport. I volunteer my time as a coach for my High School Hockey developmental program. I am also part of the “Big Helpers” program at my high school where High School students get to help preschoolers in their classrooms.
I love to hike and be outdoors. My family went to Yosemite this past summer and it was one of my best vacations ever.
