      I believe I am a good candidate for your college and your hockey team because of my work ethic.  When I was growing up, it was instilled in me, by my father, that the only way I will succeed in life is to work to my fullest potential.  Because of my work ethic, I have a mindset that is focused on being a winner.  For me, to come in second place is not an option, and I will not accept anything less than my highest of expectations.  It is my ability to win and strong mindset that separates me from most collegiate athletes. Because of these characteristics, I have high expectations of myself for college.  For example, I plan to make the Dean's List and maintain a high GPA throughout my college years.  I look forward to attending college and facing the new challenges that await me.
