Throughout my high school career I have been fortunate to play for a very successful hockey program. Despite the size of our school, as a freshman I played in the schools first State Championship game but it was in my sophomore year we won the program's first New Jersey State Championship. However my life outside of hockey has most impacted me as student-athlete. In the beginning of my sophomore year my father underwent a life threatening heart operation. Thankfully all went well, but his road to recovery was lengthy, and effected my family severely. During this time period I was forced to focus more on school work as my time and energy was being drained. Thankfully I found support from my coaches and teammates, and hockey became even more important in my life. It has made me into stronger and more independent student-athlete.
Now as I move onto a new chapter of my life I am looking for a program that will give me the support I need to continue growing as an individual and prepare me for life after college. I believe I have the maturity and work-ethic to attend and compete at the next level of my academic and athletic career.
