Personal Statement
My first priority in attending college is to get a good education and earn a degree so that I can be successful in a business career. My second priority is to attend a college that has club hockey so that I can contribute my skills toward the competitive goals of the team. I began playing hockey at the relatively old age of 8 and I learned that hard work does pay off because I was able to catch up to the skill level of the better players in a shorter period of time. I have applied this knowledge to my education now as well, taking harder courses and working to do well in them. In addition, I have not accomplished these things by solely focusing on myself but I have also made an effort to connect with the younger players on my high school team and have been rewarded for that by being named assistant captain this year. I believe these experiences and qualities make me a good candidate to be a successful contributor to a competitive club team.
