Personal Statement
Hockey, to me, is not just a game. It’s a brotherhood. It’s a family. I began playing hockey at 5 years old. My parents supported me throughout my career. They have sacrificed their time taking me to numerous tournaments, practices, games and private lessons. They have taught me to be responsible and set goals for myself. One of these goals is to continue my hockey career to juniors and the college level.
I consider myself a hardworking, versatile player. I play both center and right wing and if needed I have played as defensemen. I especially enjoy running the power play and working on penalty kill. I take pride in my skating ability. I am able to explode to the net and back check quickly. I use my agility to move the puck, make passes and put my teammates in position to score. I am not afraid to play a physical game and I do not hesitate to play the body.
Off the ice, I work hard to improve my flexibility and increase my strength. I push myself and my teammates in the weight room and on the ice.
Hockey is not the only goal I set for myself. I want to do well in school. I work hard to achieve high grades and maintain a 3.3 grade point average. I take Honors Math courses, Honors Language Arts courses and Honors History courses. I take digital photography and TV production. I lead the morning announcements as a sophomore. I enjoy filming videos and presenting to my high school. I am looking forward to next year when I can participate in clubs and other activities in school.
I hope that I am a fit for your school or program. I am available to answer any questions you may have for me. I look forward to speaking with you.
