Personal Statement
As a fast, skilled, and smart forward, I have advantages like creating extra space and time, quickly finding open ice to support the development of offensive opportunities, attacking the net at the most opportunistic moments, and relentlessly pressuring opponents on the defensive side of the play. From a very young age, I’ve been blessed with the ability to quickly reach full speed while maintaining puck possession, and adjust my speed based on the situation. I enjoy setting up the play as much as I love to score goals.
Along with a lifetime of playing travel/club hockey and playing at a Tier 1 level since U14, I played Varsity hockey all four years of High School for a private school which competed against the top High School teams in the state of New Jersey. In my freshman year, playing as a first line starter, we finished second in the state with a record of 20-3-3. Our High School team finished as a top 10 NJ team in each of my first 3 years.
At the end of my Junior year and first 18u club season, I was honored to be selected to participate as part of the 2019 AYHL U18 All-Stars, and also selected to represent team AYHL in the NAHL Top Prospects tournament. In my Senior year, my National 18u team won the AYHL championship, and between High School and Club that year, I accumulated 44 points in a combined 49 games.
After High School and 18u, I decided to take a few gap years and play Junior hockey. In my first year while staying close to home, I spent most of the season playing in the EHL. Toward the end of my first season and at my own request, for personal reasons, I finished out the season in the EHLP where I was able to have an immediate positive impact with a team that was otherwise struggling. In my second, and current season, I decided to play for my former EHL coach in the NA3HL, where I’ve been able to be an example for my teammates and younger players. In addition, I’m almost a point-per-game player and have so far contributed 21 points in 22 games as of the end of January.
I am now in my final year of junior hockey. I have enjoyed playing hockey since I can remember, but the past two years of junior hockey have not only left me with a strong foundation as a hard-working individual, player, and teammate, they have given me a tremendous desire to continue playing at the highest levels possible.
I believe that if I want something it's up to me to go get it. My parents always tell me that when preparation meets opportunity, good things can happen. Playing college hockey is a goal that I've been working hard at trying to realize and I’ll continue to work for it. I am and always will be a hard worker, not only on the ice, but for anything I strive for. I am driven and know I can be successful at anything if I have the chance. I'm excited to learn what the future holds for me and I'm certainly looking forward to the next chapter of my hockey life!
