Cohen Springer '24 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play the highest level hockey possible and ultimately play in the NHL.  For me - Hockey is Life!  I live and breathe hockey. I will continue to work every day as hard as i possibly can to accomplish my dream - I am very driven! .... 

- 2024-25 Season:  Playing for The Buffalo Junior Sabres 18U AAA... T1EHL.

- Summer 2024: Played in Fattey League (Fatteyhockeyleague.org). Helped coach for New Edge Hockey. Academy of Hockey PODS.

- 2024:  WON STATES and went to NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP with travel team Cheektowaga Warriors 18U!....Was #3 in points in NYS Championships.

- Senior Year 2024 Season:  Was CAPTAIN of the Varsity Federation Team for 2 years....2024 League Champions!... #1 in League out of all private schools in Buffalo...#1 seed heading into playoffs....i am #1 in league points out of 124 players...MADE MY 100 POINTS in Varsity Fed Hockey!.....Made it to the Championships! Final game at KeyBank Center...got first goal of the game!....heartbreaking loss by 1 goal 3-2.  Tied for #1 in League points final tally.  Named ALL FED, ALL STATE HM, and once again chosen to play in the Scotty Bowman Cup at KeyBank Center on April 12, 2024 (Best high school players in Buffalo vs Rochester).

- Junior year 2023: I am CAPTAIN of the Varsity Federation Team.   Was named ALL-FEDERATION 1st Team, ALL-STATE 2nd team, #1 in points in Monsignor Martin League and chosen to play in the SCOTTY BOWMAN CUP at KeyBank Center (Buffalo Sabres rink showcasing the top high school players in Buffalo) on April 10th !! (*Update:  Winner of Scotty Bowman Cup!).

- Timon WON Lecom Harborcenter Varsity Summer League Champioship!

** PRESS:  August 24, 2023 -The Buffalo News ran story with my photo "Timon's Springer makes impact on, off ice" - sports spotlight featuring the Top 25 athletes in Buffalo to watch for 2024!..My photo was featured in The Buffalo News on March 26, 2023 for being named ALL FED 1st TEAM and on Sports Talk Live Channel 2; in The Buffalo News April 7th 2023 with picture for Scotty Bowman Cup, and again on April 10th featuring "The BEST high school hockey players in Buffalo" ...Also received great coverage on Channel 2 News playing in Scotty Bowman Cup with clip of my assist. NYS News Release for making ALL STATE 2nd team!

- Sophmore year I was Assistant Captain of my Varsity Federation Team, #1 in points for most of season, and named ALL STAR in The Monsignor Martin League (D1) WNY Section VI High School Hockey.  

- My freshman year I was named Team MVP.  

...I am very honored. (*Please see my Stats and Accomplishment below). I have also assisted in teaching hockey clinics to youth here in Buffalo for 3D Hockey Academy, New Edge Hockey, & Buffalo Regals AAA Team (2010). 

What sets me apart is my high hockey IQ, point scoring ability, stick handling, fast skating and ability to think fast on my feet to make the play.  I have always played Center and win majority of all faceoffs, but i can also play wing.  I have the passion, drive and unwavering commitment to be the absolute best hockey player, student and person i can be on and off the ice. I currently have a 97 average and am a member of The National Honor Society! When i make it, i am going to give back - especially to homeless people as i give to them every chance i get! And also my parents for all they have done for me. 

I want to follow in the footsteps of NHL's Tim Kennedy who graduated from my high school: Bishop Timon-St. Jude in Buffalo, NY.

I have been playing hockey since i was 4. I played for Buffalo AAA youth travel teams - playing for Buffalo Saints and Buffalo Regals.  Two years ago I joined one of the most talented 2006 teams in Buffalo (Cheektowaga Warriors) to compete for States and be able to play split season for my High School. I also have played on AAA/Elite Spring Tournament Teams for many years with local high level talent (playing tournaments in the USA and Canada), winning many tournaments, hat-trick and Player of the Game awards. I play year round and attend as many clinics and camps as possible, practice shooting daily in my basement, working out at the gym and working with a sports trainer 2x per week at Cutting Edge Sports Training for hockey conditioning (my trainer also works out some of the Buffalo Sabres). 

* MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS THUS FAR THAT I AM VERY PROUD OF:

1.  Freshman Year:   Team MVP award - JV Maroon, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institue, Buffalo, NY;

2.  Sophmore Year: 

           - Assistant Captain and #1 in points for Varsity Federation Team at Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School (D1 Section 6 WNY Boys Hockey); 

           - Ranked #1 in league points for majority of the season out of 154 players in Monsignor Martin League (D1);

           - Named an ALL STAR- Monsignor Martin League; was ranked a top 6 Forward out of 154 players as a sophmore playing Varsity Fed.

3.  Junior Year -

            - CAPTAIN of the Varsity Fed Team!  ....i ended season tied as #1 in League points!***

            -  ALL FEDERATION 1st Team! ***

            -  ALL- STATE 2nd TEAM! ***

            - Scotty Bowman Cup Winner!  ***  

4. Senior Year:

    - Captain Varsity Fed Team. League Champions! Tied for #1 League points. Made 100th Varsity point. Went to final Championship at KeyBank Center, lost by 1 goal 36 seconds left. 

     - Travel Team NYS Champions (CHeektowaga 18U) - went to National Championship (lost 3-2 with few seconds left).

     - Named ALL FED, ALL STATE player.

    - Asked to play in Fattey League summer 2024.

    - Committed to Buffalo Junior Sabres 18u AAA T1EHL

 I am truly humbled, honored and blessed.
