I started playing hockey at the Squirt level where I was a stay at home defenseman on the Lower Merion Bulldogs and the Wissahickon Warriors. I learned how and when to pinch, how to read the play, and how to best position myself to keep the puck in the zone or get back depending on the situation. Even at the youngest age, I always took pride in keeping the puck in front of me.
At Wissahickon, I was inspired by Mike Richter, who used to play there too, and I realized that what I really wanted to do was to transition to the last line of defense. So I started playing goal in Pee Wee and very quickly rose from B to A to AAA to New England prep where I played varsity for 2 years while at Cardigan Mountain School.
I train hard, listen to my coaches, am constantly looking to improve, and love being able to contribute to my team by shutting the other team down. I especially love playing in crunch time, and am able to find another gear in tight games, as I never want to let my teammates and coaches down. In my last year at Cardigan, I was a perfect 3-0 in OT games, won numerous 1 goal games against quality teams like Westminster, Berkshire, Stanstead, New Hampton and Choate, went 12-3-0 overall and had a 1.73 GAA.
Now I am also following in Mike Richter's footsteps by continuing on to Northwood School. Being able to play goalie in the Lake Placid Olympic Arena where legends like Mike Richter and Jim Craig played inspires me.
As for school, I enjoy English and History and want to study business in college. The latter is because I am a self starter who is entrepreneurial and business minded. When something captures my interest and I decide to do something about it, I do whatever it takes to make it happen. An example of this is that at age 13, I started my own online vintage fashion business called Streetwearsteals. Essentially, I go thrifting and find unique vintage streetwear to resell. Then, I market these items on social media and a website called Grailed. I negotiate to work out the best deal possible for all parties involved. Customers send money for the products through a money-wiring service called PayPal. When a deal does not work out the way I had planned, or when a customer is not happy with a purchase, I am always flexible and ready to resolve the situation. I am committed to every customer and want each to have the best experience possible during a business transaction with me. I have gained much knowledge of the men’s fashion industry, and I love creating my own style and helping others find their own. I am very excited for my business to continue to grow.
