Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember I have been a multi-sport athlete with my main sport being hockey. I have played hockey since I was 5, playing before and after school. My biggest accomplishment was leading my teams in assists 5 years straight. I played with multiple high-level teams including the P.A.L junior islanders LIAHL AAA, Brooklyn Aviator LIAHL AAA, and Long Island Rebels EJEPL 14U Diamond. In the summer I play for multiple club teams that compete in tournaments across the United States. When I was in Middle School I was taken as a starter by the Syosset junior varsity team and was later offered a spot as a starter on their varsity team. However, I chose to play high school hockey on the Portledge varsity team in 9th grade and I play up with the 18U Arrows hockey team. During my 2018-19 season, I was 4th in points on my team in both of the EJEPL leagues that we competed in. In one league I was 2nd in assists and in the other I was 2nd in goals.
Throughout my years of playing hockey, I have won many tournaments including Silver Sticks, Haunted Shootout, King of the Hill, and the Swagger cup. We were also finalists in the Columbus Fall Classic, and the Ocean State Classic.
I consider myself a student-athlete because I play on 2 hockey teams, having multiple practices with each per week, and multiple skating lessons, as well as staying at the top of my classes and being nominated to start the STEAM scholar program at its earliest stages. I have been on the honor roll at my school throughout my middle and high school career. I am also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), which is an invitational society that recognizes academic excellence among high achieving scholars. I have also been playing on the Portledge varsity golf team since middle school and have been a top player since freshman year. In my junior year of high school, I was a captain and I will continue to be a captain senior year.
I would love to play Division 3 or Club hockey at a selective academic university.
